Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH)

The Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) has been updated. Students eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill would receive the BAH for the zip code of the institution they are attending.  BAH Information can be found here

HUD-VASH Vouchers 

The 2008 Consolidated Appropriations Act enacted December 26, 2007, provided $75 million of funding for the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) voucher program. 

The 2008 Appropriation required HUD to make such funding available to public housing agencies (PHAs) that partner with eligible VA Medical Centers (VAMC) or other entries as designated by the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs, public housing agency administrative performance, and other factors as specified by the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in consultation with the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Loan Limits for 2010 have been posted. The limits are for VA guaranteed loans closed on or after January 1, 2010 and through December 31, 2010. Please review list carefully as there have been changes from 2009. Learn more here

Homelessness Resource Exchange -

The Homelessness Resource Exchange is your online one-stop shop for information and resources on assisting people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Program guidance and regulations, technical assistance and training resources, research and publications, and more are available for use by Federal agencies, state and local government agencies, Continuum of Care organizations, homeless service providers, technical assistance providers, persons experiencing homelessness, and other stakeholders.

President Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, which includes a $1.5 billion for a Homelessness Prevention Fund. Funding for this program, called the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP), is being distributed based on the formula used for the Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) program.
